Published on As usual, the little girl happily ran into her father’s arms. Together they rode off on their old bicycle. She put her arms around his waist, chatting and giggling.
Emily had admired and even envied that classmate of hers since the first day at school. Watching them, she thought of the note she had left that morning. Would her Congressman daddy come pick her up today, her 8th birthday?
The familiar BMW rolled in. The driver opened the back door. Emily stopped breathing. There sitting was her nanny beaming and hugging a huge stuffed panda.
“Another teddy.  Bigger”, sighed Emily.
